collective knowhow
We use knowledge to make products. This knowledge exists in three forms:
Tools - easy to ship across different locations
Codes (manuals, recipes etc.) - easy to share
Knowhow - knowledge inside brains - tacit knowledge ((like playing the violin) - the hardest and slowest component to acquire, because it only exists in brains, requiring a significant amount of time to acquire.
Collective knowhow is the ability to accomplish tasks as a group that no individual can achieve alone (like playing the entire orchestra)
Requires a group of people,
so coordination is needed
The more collective knowhow in a place, the more production capabilities it has, and the more complex products it produces.
